Rhys is an outgoing, intelligent, drivey girl with medium energy and an offswitch. She enjoys taking performance classes with her owner or being included in family activities. She is eager to please and willing to try many new things and always happy to meet new people when she's visiting our home! For a short time, she was handled in Juniors and at shows by my kids and she loved it! We were over the moon with how she matured and that her family has been willing to let us borrow her for a litter to keep this line going, especially after the tragic loss of her show prospect brother that was held back by their sire owner, Crystal Creek.
We very much enjoy working with Bonnie at Crystal Creek, so here comes another Ghibli and Crystal Creek collaboration! Presto is just one leg away from this UKC Grand title. Rhys' owner and I met Presto in person at a dog show last year and we both fell in love with his wonderful personality. He is a diverse boy with an OI of 0.41 with Intervariety in the background of his pedigree, which further drew my interest. Finding a diverse dog to pair Rhys to that had an equally exceptional temperament was important to our breeding goal for this line, while we continue to aim for smaller Standards without losing good conformation.
We are expecting puppies with wonderful temperaments, easy trainability, that will make great pets for the average family. We are hoping to identify a co-owner or guardian home that will help us keep this line going another generation.
Due Date Mid September.
Go Home Date the week before Thanksgiving.
We will be performing X-ray early September to get a count if she is pregnant!
Presto and Rhys are generally more related by pedigree than I typcially breed, Despite the lower Category 6 score, Rhys has a Internal Related score in the high negatives (IR -0.08) leaving this litter still only with an average projected IR of 0.05, which was reasonable, all while further driving up the Outlier Index score because of Presto being an outlier with such a high OI of 0.47. We also were searching for a boy with non-risky and rare haplotypes and were happy to find that with Presto. Overall, finding everything we wanted and needed in a brown or brown carrier boy was quite the task, and we are hopeful that these two will pair well together.
